I recently graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying Anthropology and Women and Gender Studies with a minor in Education. I am passionate about creating equality in food access and education in order to break down the barriers created by socioeconomic class and gender relations. Currently, I am the On Site Administrator at Shanti Bhavan Children’s Project: managing volunteers, working with the school’s administration, acting as disciplinarian, teaching a few classes, and playing with the kids. Starting in January I will be a Fulbright Scholar teaching English as foreign language in Malaysia.
I continue to serve as the Senior Director of Administration for India’s Shanti Bhavan Children’s Project. As Partnership Director of the blog and movement Everyday Ambassador, I seek to make positive impact in a global world. At UNC I dedicated my time to maintaining HOPE Gardens in order to build relationships among residents in Chapel Hill through sustainable agriculture. In my spare time I love to cook, especially for other people. I commit to the belief that anything can be accomplished over a shared meal.
This site is named after my favorite quote: “Once we believe in ourselves, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight, or any experience that reveals the human spirit.” – e.e. cummings. Blogging is my humbled attempt to document those experiences in my life.
Disclaimer: I often get too caught up in the moment I am experiencing to remember to write about it, so I can make no promises on the regularity of these posts. That said, I hope you enjoy!
